After we got off the river, we must have found a place to shower and change into clean clothes. We did go to a restaurant for a good, hot meal, but then (if I remember right) we headed for home, driving all night. I remember that I had to take my turn driving the truck with a bunch of sleeping people in back and hauling a trailer full of canoes and equipment. I had a hard time staying awake, but managed to do so. I remember feeling good about facing my fear and doing what I did not think I was capable of doing.
